Meet the founder, Jasmine
For someone who loves writing about other businesses, talking about my own is quite a challenge, so here goes...
Where did my journey begin?
Flash back to 2015 and I’d visited West End Live for the first time the day after finishing my GCSEs. A full weekend of musical theatre in the heart of London... what could be better? I wanted to share my weekend with the world and so decided to start a blog.
Enter: Everything Stagey.
With a logo built in Microsoft Paint, a notepad and pen, and a passion for writing, I was ready to conquer the world.
This then led me to writing for a leading theatre ticketing agency and being invited to review shows and attend press nights.
I then followed my passion a step further and started musical theatre training in the heart of the London before changing my path and discovering the big wide world of marketing – all thanks to a disastrous H&M advert.
I couldn’t believe it had been published and knew I wanted to be in the room where decisions like that were made.
I’d always been passionate about writing, media, and communications (and loved being in front of a camera!), so I embarked on a BA (Hons) Broadcast Journalism degree at Nottingham Trent University. During a semester abroad at RMIT (Australia), I was introduced to the complex world of Public Relations and wanted to explore it.
I left university in the height of lockdown and so began the job search. I landed a great job in education before moving on to my first ‘big girl job’ in marketing, which.... was a disaster. I learned very quickly the effect of an incohesive environment and a lack of effective communication when working alongside many different departments.
Though it wasn’t the most enjoyable experience, I used the opportunity to continue growing my own skills and learning more about the various nuances of corporate marketing.
After this role, I began working with a range of different companies to develop their market impact, connect more with their audience, and to transform their results. I knew I wanted to help more businesses to succeed, and so in January 2024, Jasmine PR was born.
(Oh, and if you’re still wondering where my stagey side went, never fear, it’s still here! I’m very fortunate to be presenting weekly for Box Office Radio and attending press nights across the country to review and write about various productions. You can also catch me on stage occasionally, too!)
