The Thompson Dance Studios was opened by Minnie Thompson in 1932. Since then, The Thompson Dance Studios has become synonymous with exceptional dance training and providing a positive, encouraging, and safe space for students to explore their passion for dance.
The Challenges
Although the Thompson Dance Studios was well known in the community for delivering excellent training, there was a lack of external recognition. As more schools were popping up in the same area, Thompson Dance Studios needed a new marketing approach that helped them stand out.
What We Did
In order to connect with potential new students, together we:
Created an engaging narrative sharing the history of the school and its progress since 1932.
Showcased the dedication of staff and students throughout the pandemic, maintaining excellent teaching standards and a positive, nurturing environment.
To enhance the studio’s profile, I engaged local press coverage to:
Celebrate milestones, including the 25th anniversary in the current premises with current principal.
Highlight student successes and performances.
To develop The Thompson Dance Studios’ reputation on a wider scale, I actively explored regional, national, and international awards within the dance industry. I prepared and submitted applications, providing a convincing and accurate portrayal of the school’s commitment to its students. These efforts have resulted in:
- Dance School of the Year 2021 – Community Service in Dance
- Yorkshire Prestige Awards 2022/23, 2023/24 - Dance School of the Year
- Current finalists – Yorkshire Prestige Awards 2024/25, 2024 Sports and Leisure Awards
